Sykes makes this novel more interesting than the usual run of très chic and très riche girls by being (mildly) ironic about the world she describes. And despite all the critical and cynical details, it remains a romance to be devoured (albeit by girls only). Still - trash with a smidgen of satire doesn’t get any better than this!
